Kohima: The Executive Engineer of the Electrical Division in Kohima, Nagaland, Er Shiludi Longkumer, has informed the public and consumers that a severe storm accompanied by heavy rainfall on Tuesday has caused extensive damage to both High Tension (HT) and Low Tension (LT) power lines.
The affected areas include Tseminyu, and Ghathashi under Zunheboto District.
The storm disrupted multiple feeders, including 33Kv ITI, 33Kv Ringmain-2, 33Kv Chakhabama, 33Kv Lalmati, 11Kv Ministers’ Hill, 11Kv Paramedical, 11Kv Jakhama Civil, 11Kv Jakhama Army, 11Kv Science College Jotsoma, 11Kv Zubza, 11Kv TV Centre Jotsoma, 11Kv Khuzama, 11Kv Kigwema, 11Kv Sendenyu, 11Kv Thizama, among other numerous LT feeders.

Er. Longkumer reported that while restoration work on some HT and LT lines has been completed, power personnel are still working tirelessly around the clock to restore the remaining lines. The restoration efforts are being carried out with limited manpower on a war footing to ensure the smooth flow of power supply to the affected areas.
The Executive Engineer has urged the public and consumers to cooperate and bear with the inconveniences during this period of restoration.
