Kohima: The Northeast Startup Catalyst Program was officially launched at the Auditorium of NIELIT Kohima, with P Tokugha Sema, Director of Industries & Commerce, as the special guest.
During the launch event, Sema highlighted the program’s significance in promoting innovation and entrepreneurship across the region. He emphasised that this initiative is crucial not only for supporting startups but also for enhancing the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Nagaland and the broader Northeast area.
Sema noted that Nagaland currently has five incubators under the Startup Nagaland scheme, with NIELIT being one of them. These incubators play a pivotal role in nurturing startups by offering essential resources, platforms, and mentorship.
He urged decision-makers, leaders, and influential individuals to actively support and guide startups, stressing that their involvement could transform innovative ideas into successful businesses.
He called on the attendees to collaborate in creating a thriving entrepreneurial environment, which would spur economic growth and development in Nagaland and the entire Northeast region.

Sema expressed his gratitude to NIELIT for organising the program and expressed optimism that through collective efforts, many startups would succeed, contributing significantly to the socio-economic development of the region.
The Northeast Startup Catalyst Program has attracted 16 startups and 23 participants from Aizawl, Kohima, Guwahati, and Imphal, reflecting a strong regional interest in fostering entrepreneurial growth.
