Kohima: In a bid to steer Nagaland’s youth towards a sustainable future, Agriculture Officer Neisakuo Theünuo emphasised on the pressing need to embrace agriculture.
He was addressing the felicitation programme of the HSLC and HSSLC meritorious students, organised by the Zhadima Students’ Union (ZSU) at Zhadima village on Saturday.

The officer said that amid accolades for academic excellence, there is a need to explore the vast opportunities within the agricultural sector.
Against the backdrop of modern challenges and a rapidly evolving job market, he emphasised the importance of diversifying skills while also pursuing academic knowledge.
The agricultural potential of Zhadima village was highlighted as Theünuo delved into the intricacies of agriculture. He stressed the significance of understanding drought-resistant crops and modern farming techniques.
Theünuo shared his vision for empowering the youth to become catalysts for rural development and economic growth.
Sedevilie Theünuo, who secured the fourth rank in the recently declared NPSC Combined Technical Service Examination, also addressed the gathering. He shared insights on the importance of hard work, focus, and setting priorities. He encouraged students to surround themselves with like-minded individuals and stressed that diligence and perseverance have no substitutes.

The programme, chaired by ZSU Assistant General Secretary Keduoneituo Augustine Theünuo, began with a prayer by Dziesengulie Chüpuo, M Th., and greetings from ZSU President Medolenuo Ambrocia Loucü. A special song was presented by Vitseinuo Khoubve, and Keneinuo Khoubve delivered a speech on behalf of the meritorious students.
The introduction of freshers was led by ZSU Information & Publicity Secretary Thepfuneilhou Kuotsu. The event also featured blessings from pastors, reverends, and catechists from various churches. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by ZSU Khel Executive Petesenuo Sorünuo and a mass prayer led by Pastor Khriekesa Miario from CRC Zhadima.
