NagaEd brings internet 'faster than Bangalore' to remote villages

In a historic move, NagaEd has rolled out 5G internet to the last-mile villages on the India-Myanmar border. With this move, the students of remote tribal villages will now be able to have access to high-speed internet and take a leap ahead in education.

The initiative is a part of NagaEd’s Learning Enhancement & Accessibility Project (LEAP). Under this project, the company has set up digital classrooms in all the participating schools and provided them with an internet connection. This will help in addressing the educational challenges faced in these remote areas and provide them with equitable access to global educational resources.

“The ability to bring 5G internet to these remote tribal villages is not just about overcoming geographical and infrastructural barriers; it’s about reshaping the future of education here,” says Kevisato Sanyu, founder of NagaEd.

NagaEd’s visit to the villages began with intensive teacher training sessions, where teachers from local schools were upskilled in using digital tools and content aligned with the state curriculum. This was followed by the installation of 5G routers in every school, which will ensure internet access to all the classrooms.

Through this project, NagaEd aims to provide quality education to remote areas where teacher shortages persist as a significant challenge. The company believes that this will not only improve student performance and educational access in these areas but also contribute towards bridging the digital divide.

The initial phase of the LEAP project has now been completed, and NagaEd is now focused on the continuous evaluation and support of the schools to ensure the sustained impact of these digital tools. The project is aimed at providing every student with access to the best learning opportunities available to them, regardless of their location.
