Nagaland Police rescue kidnapped worker in daring night op

Kohima: In a daring night operation on Tuesday, a construction labourer who was kidnapped from Kohima was successfully rescued from Pfütsero in Phek district by the Nagaland Police.

A combined police team led by the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) North of the Kohima Police, with assistance from the Phek Police, conducted the rescue operation.

The operation was initiated following a complaint filed on Monday, stating that a non-tribal labourer had been abducted by unknown miscreants under the pretext of construction work.

According to the Kohima Police, the kidnappers subsequently demanded a ransom of Rs. 5 lakh for the release of the hostage.

Utilising technical inputs, the police operation not only rescued the kidnapped labourer but also apprehended two individuals associated with a Naga Political Group believed to be involved in the abduction.

A case has been registered at the North Police Station, and further investigations are underway to unravel the details surrounding the incident.
