Kohima: In view of the ‘Eastern Nagaland Public Meeting’ on Thursday at Tuensang, a 12-hour total shutdown is observed across Eastern Nagaland from 6 AM to 6 PM.

A crucial meeting of the Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ organisation (ENPO) was convened over its demand for a Frontier Nagaland Territory (FNT).

The ENPO had declared a public emergency in its jurisdiction covering six districts. The body had reaffirmed its decision to abstain from participating in any state or parliamentary polls.

During the 12-hour total shutdown, the district administration, police and paramilitary forces, power department, fire and emergency services, medical emergencies, media, PHE department, and delegates attending the proposed meeting with vehicles, remain exempted.

The meeting will take place at CKS Hall in Tuensang town, with invitations extended to all 20 Eastern Nagaland Legislators Union (ENLU) members, including the Rajya Sabha MP and Ex-Parliamentarians, members of the 13th NLA from Eastern Nagaland, leaders and former leaders of its affiliated units, and the talk team.

A resolution is likely to be adopted by the end of the meeting.
