Kohima: In a significant development aimed at fostering entrepreneurship in Nagaland, the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) has forged a partnership with the Nagaland government, pledging a substantial sum exceeding Rs 100 crore for various entrepreneurial projects within the northeastern state.
As the apex regulatory body overseeing the licensing and regulation of micro, small, and medium enterprise finance companies in India, SIDBI operates under the purview of the Ministry of Finance.
During a recent event, SIDBI’s Chief General Manager, Subhransu S Acharya, unveiled the plans, highlighting a comprehensive approach to empower local entrepreneurs and catalyze economic progress. Among the initiatives earmarked for funding are four pivotal projects, including the establishment of crucial industrial infrastructure tailored to meet the needs of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through the cluster development fund.
