Aizawl: Mara youth Nicky S. Beidaosa, son of S. Beipawsa from ECM Veng, Siaha, Mizoram, has been selected as one of the 15 cadets from India to participate in the Youth Exchange Programme (YEP) in Moscow, Russia. Nicky will represent the National Cadet Corps (NCC) delegation of India at the international event, set to be held from October 27 to 30, 2025, during the 9th International Film Festival “Cadets View” at the Suvorov Military School in Tver, Moscow.
This proud achievement has sparked a wave of celebration and pride across the Mara community, with the news going viral on several social media platforms, including Voice of Maraland, where it was widely shared and praised.
Originally from Theiva, Siaha District, Nicky currently resides with his family in ECM Vaih, Siaha. A bright and dedicated student, he completed his high school education from Hill View Secondary School under the Assam Regimental Centre in Shillong, and pursued his higher secondary studies at ARPS, Shillong. Presently, he is in the 5th Semester of a Bachelor of Arts degree at St. Anthony’s College, Shillong.
Nicky was a representative of North East India during the Republic Day Parade 2025 in New Delhi. On January 27, 2025, he participated in the Prime Minister’s Rally, following which, on February 18, 2025, he was awarded the Medal of Excellence by Brigadier Vijayant Mahadik in Shillong, and later honored by ADG Maj. General Gagan Deep in Guwahati.
Continuing his streak of accomplishments, Nicky also received an award from the Governor of Meghalaya on May 16, 2025, for his outstanding participation in the Republic Day Camp 2025 held in New Delhi.
Among the 15 cadets selected nationwide for the Russia exchange programme, Nicky stands out as the sole representative from North East India.
