Aizawl: Dr. Lalrempuii, a medical officer at the Urban Health and Wellness Center (HWC), along with her team from Dampui Sub-Center, trekked for four hours through rough terrain and river crossings to reach the remote village of Kanthuam in Mamit District. The team was responding to reports of a widespread outbreak of illness in the village.
Upon arrival, Dr. Lalrempuii and her staff immediately got to work, providing essential medical care to the sick villagers. They stayed until dark to ensure that every patient received the attention they needed.
The National Health Mission in Mizoram praised the team’s efforts, sharing the news on social media: “Upon learning of the outbreak of illnesses in Khantuam village, Mamit District, Dr. Lalrempuii, Medical Officer at Urban Health and Wellness Center (HWC), and her team from Dampui Sub-Center (SC) embarked on a challenging 4-hour trek to reach the affected community.”
“Undeterred by the arduous journey, they selflessly devoted themselves to caring for the patients until nightfall, providing essential medical attention and relief. We salute the selfless commitment of Dr. Lalrempuii and her team,” they wrote.
