Mizoram: School Connect event to bring 15 institutions to Aizawl

Aizawl: Mizoram Youth Commission (MYC) and ZALEN are set to jointly host the ‘School Connect 2024’ event on September 12 and 13, 2024 at Chanmari YMA Hall.

The event will bring together students from 8 Higher Secondary Schools, along with 15 institutions, including Women’s Polytechnic, Aizawl, and Government Industrial Training Institute, Aizawl.

School Connect 2024 aims to provide Class 12 students with insights into various career opportunities. Experts from different fields within Mizoram and beyond will conduct a series of 8 sessions on each day, totaling 16 sessions across the two days. The initiative is designed to guide students through their career choices, offering them valuable information and direction.

This event, initially organized by ZALEN in collaboration with the School Education Department in 2019, had a positive impact on students, especially those in Class 12. However, due to the pandemic, the event could not continue, but it is now being revived. School Connect 2024 will officially be inaugurated by Mizoram Youth Commission Chairman Malsawmzuala Ralte at 9:30 AM on September 12 at Chanmari YMA Hall.

A wide range of universities and institutions will participate in the event, including the Indian Air Force, AIMS Bangalore, Manipal University, KR Mangalam University, Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, British Council, Graphic Era University, Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, Apeejay Stya University, Jain University, Acharya Institutes, Adams University, JIS University, Parul University, IEM University, and Global Reach.

During the sessions, students will have the opportunity to explore topics such as careers in the Air Force and defense services, new-age career opportunities, post-Class 12 career options, international study and work opportunities, internet-based work options, and skill development. Key speakers include Warrant Officer Dipnarayan Sahu from the Indian Air Force, Kunal Kukreja from Graphic Era University, Gaurav Yadav from Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Mr. Sudhanva EV from Jain University, and many more.
