Aizawl: In response to the recent controversy surrounding leaked questions from the ongoing Class X board examinations, the Mizoram Board of School Education (MBSE) has announced that no re-examination will be conducted for the High School Leaving Certificate Examination.
This decision comes after widespread concern among students, parents, and education stakeholders regarding the integrity of the examination process.
The examination committee, in collaboration with relevant authorities, has pledged to undertake initiatives to mitigate the impact of the incident on students. Assurances have been made to ensure that affected students do not suffer as a result of the leaked questions.
The school education department and MBSE have issued apologies to students, parents, and guardians for the distress and panic caused by the situation.
During a recent joint press conference held with the National Students Union of India, the Mizoram Pradesh Youth Congress Committee demanded the resignation of Mizoram’s Education Minister, Dr. Vanlalthlana, citing alleged mishandling of the situation.
The committee criticised the minister for purportedly failing to provide adequate support to distressed students and attempting to evade responsibility during a legislative session.
Accusations were leveled against Dr. Vanlalthlana, accusing him of bypassing established protocols and involving the accused teacher in legal proceedings instead of adhering to due process.
In response, Dr. Vanlalthlana reiterated the commitment of the School Education Department and MBSE to uphold the integrity of board exams. He disclosed that the implicated teacher had been suspended, and an FIR had been filed by the Mizoram Board of School Education.

Despite expressing regret over the necessity of addressing the issue during the budget session, Dr. Vanlalthlana assured members of the assembly of the authorities’ dedication to maintaining the credibility of the examination system.
The matter remains under scrutiny as stakeholders call for accountability and swift resolution to rebuild trust in the education system.
