Aizawl: Mizoram’s COVID-19 count reached 1,26,386 on Wednesday as 525 more people have tested positive for the infection, a health department official said.
The death toll rose 456 as five more people have succumbed to the infection, he said.
The single-day positivity rate was 10.69 per cent as the fresh cases were detected from 4,911 sample tests, he said.
At least 134 children were among the newly infected people, he said.
The number of active cases now stands at 5,437, while 342 people have recovered on Wednesday till 5 pm, taking the total recoveries to 1,20,493.
The recovery rate among COVID-19 patients is 95.33 per cent and the death rate is 0.36 per cent.
According to the state Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP), more than 13.55 lakh samples have been tested for COVID-19 so far.
Over 6.99 lakh people have been vaccinated till Wednesday said, of which 5.27 lakh people have received full dose, according to state immunisation officer Dr Lalzawmi.
