Chandel: The Japhou Youth Club in Manipur’s Chandel district has congratulated brothers Prof Shongsir Warson Monsang and Shongsir Nicodim Monsang for receiving national-level honours for their contributions to veterinary medicine and education.

Prof. Shongsir Warson Monsang received the National Talent Award 2026 in recognition of his significant contribution to the field of Veterinary Medicine, particularly in the areas of surgery and animal health care. His professional contribution in veterinary medicine represents a valuable service not only to animal welfare and health but also to the wider community whose livelihoods and well-being are closely connected with livestock and animal husbandry.
Through his expertise, dedication and commitment to veterinary healthcare, the Japhou Youth Club noted that Prof. Shongsir Warson Monsang has demonstrated the importance of specialised knowledge and professional service in addressing societal needs.

Menchim Monsang of Japhou village in Chandel district, Prof. Shongsir Warson Monsang currently works as the Head of Department, Veterinary Surgery and Radiology at the Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry Institution, Agartala. While Shongsir Nicodim Monsang serves as Headmaster in-charge at Japhou Upper Primary School, Japhou village in Chandel district.
