Guwahati: A joint operation involving the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, and Manipur Police was initiated on Monday in Imphal East district where huge cache of arms and ammunition were recovered.
Acting on specific intelligence regarding the presence of weapons and ammunition in the general area of Sabungkhok Khunao-Chanung heights in Imphal East district of Manipur, the joint operation was launched.
The operation resulted in the discovery of a significant arsenal, including one 12-bore single barrel gun, three improvised mortars, one 9mm pistol, three grenades, and assorted ammunition.
Following the operation, the recovered items were handed over to the local police for further investigation and appropriate action.
