In the last 24 hours, as many as 717 persons, including two personnel from Central Armed Police Force, have tested positive for COVID-19 in Manipur.
With the new cases, the total number of active cases in the state rose to 9,016 and the cumulative number of confirmed cases reached 54,407.
The new positive cases were reported from Imphal West (245), Imphal East (141), Churachandpur (98), Thoubal (84), Kakching (47), Bishnupur (41), Chandel (23), Tamenglong (12), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (6), Kangpokpi (5), Noney (3), Kamjong (1), and Tengnoupal (1) districts, respectively.
Meanwhile, nine more persons succumbed due to COVID-19 complications on Saturday. The state’s death toll stands at 872.
The COVID-19 victims are reported from Imphal East (4), Imphal West (3), Bishnupur(1) and Kakching (1). Also, with 740 more persons discharged on Saturday, the total number of recoveries stands at 44,519. The recovery rate stands at 81.82%.
