Imphal: Manipur registered the highest single-day spike with 824 new COVID-19 cases. The state’s total confirmed cases of coronavirus now stands at 45,451 with 6,785 active cases.
On Monday, 468 persons recovered and were discharged, taking the total recovery rate at 83.48 per cent.
The new positive cases include 361 from Imphal West, 168 from Imphal East, 92 from Kakching, 67 from Churachandpur, 43 from Bishnupur, 36 from Thoubal, 16 from Ukhrul, 15 from Senapati, eight from Pherzawl, seven from Tamenglong, four from Tengnoupal, three each from Chandel and Kamjong and one from Noney districts.
Also, 15 more people succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours. The cumulative number of deaths due to COVID-19 now stands 720.
The latest 15 victims are from Imphal West (9), Imphal East (3), Bishnupur (1), Kakching (1) and Thoubal (1), respectively.
