Imphal: Manipur continues to witness a surge in COVID-19 with 538 new cases. Seventeen more succumbed to the virus on Monday.
With these new cases, the total confirmed cases rose to 44,627, out of which 6,444 remain as active cases.
Also, the cumulative number of deaths due to COVID-19 complications has surged to 705 in the last 24 hours. The latest victims include seven each from Imphal West and Imphal East and one each Bishnupur, Kakching and Thoubal districts.
Moreover, the new positive cases are reported from Imphal West (202), Imphal East (164), Ukhrul (46), Churachandpur (34), Bishnupur (21), Thoubal (18), Senapati (8), Jiribam (7), Kangpokpi (7), Chandel (5), Tengnoupal (5), Tamenglong (4), Noney (4) and Kamjong (1), respectively.
The recovery rate in Manipur stands at 83.98%.
