Zubeen Garg’s final film, Roi Roi Binale, has crossed the Rs 10 crore mark at the Indian box office, becoming the fourth highest-grossing Assamese film of all time. Released on October 31, the film has drawn record crowds across Assam and other parts of the country, driving what many in the industry are calling an unprecedented moment for regional cinema.
The film opened in Assam with 4:25 am screenings, as fans lined up hours in advance for one last chance to see Garg on screen. It collected an estimated Rs 1.85 crore net on its opening day, an all-time high for an Assamese release. Within the first week, the film had earned Rs 11.43 crore net against a production budget of Rs 5 crore. Near-full occupancy has continued beyond the opening weekend, indicating strong repeat viewership.
While Assam accounts for most of the earnings, Roi Roi Binale was released in over 180 theatres across India, including in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune and Kochi. Trade analysts say the film drew 75–80 per cent occupancy in select cities outside the Northeast, demonstrating the wide appeal of Garg and the story.

The film has now overtaken the opening performances of earlier Assamese hits like Ratnakar (2019) and Mission China (2017) and has edged ahead of Rudra (2025) to take fourth place among the highest-grossing Assamese films to date. Box office trackers have declared the film a commercial success, noting its 100 per cent profit margin in less than a week.
Theatres that had previously closed have reopened across Assam to screen the movie, driven by demand from audiences hoping to take part in what many see as a cultural farewell. Industry watchers say the success of Roi Roi Binale reflects rising interest in regional cinema with strong local roots and emotional resonance.
Zubeen Garg, who passed away in September, appears in the film for the final time. Its sustained theatrical run has turned into a collective tribute, drawing viewers of all ages across Assam and beyond.
