The Guwahati Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory ahead of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 matches scheduled at the Assam Cricket Association (ACA) Stadium in Barsapara. To ensure smooth traffic movement and public safety, restrictions and diversions will be in place on 30 September, 3 October, 7 October, 10 October and 29 October.
According to the notification, the movement of commercial goods vehicles and slow-moving vehicles will be restricted on several major roads, including B.K. Kakati Road, A.K. Azad Road, A.K. Dev Road, Kula Basumatary Road, Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Path, F.A. Road, and portions of R.G. Baruah Path, Bishnupur Road and Rajib Gandhi Path.
From 11 am onwards on match days, only vehicles with car passes will be allowed to ply from Lalgamesh Tiniali towards the cycle factory near Barsapara Stadium. Vehicles without car passes will be diverted towards alternate routes.
The advisory also outlines specific one-way traffic rules on days of matches. For example, Kula Basumatary Road (Barsapara Road) will remain one-way from Barsapara Tiniali to Dhirenpara Tiniali after 11 am, but only for vehicles with car passes. Similar restrictions apply to Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Path and adjoining stretches leading to the stadium.
Parking arrangements have been made at designated points, including Champabati Field, RCTRC Field, Ambari Rangapathar Field, Vishal Marriage Hall, Rolling Mill Field, and South Point School. Separate facilities have been allocated for two-wheelers, heavy motor vehicles, and force-carrying vehicles.
Spectators will be able to enter the ACA Stadium through six designated gates:
- Gate No. 1A for teams and PMOA
- Gate No. 1B for car pass holders and commentators
- Gate No. 2 via Barsapara Road
- Gate No. 3 via R.G. Baruah Path
- Gate No. 4 via Rolling Mill Road
- Gate Nos. 5 and 6 via Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Path
The advisory clarified that emergency services such as ambulances, fire tenders, vehicles carrying oxygen cylinders, school buses, and milk vans will be allowed free passage.
Authorities have urged the public to plan travel in advance to avoid inconvenience on match days.
