Pokémon partnered with the Gujarat Titans during the 2025 league season, introducing a new form of fan engagement at both grassroots and professional levels. The collaboration brought Pikachu into training sessions, home matches, and public events, drawing interest from both children and adults.
As part of the Gujarat Titans’ Junior Titans initiative, a programme aimed at encouraging physical activity and sporting habits among children under 14, Pokémon was integrated into activities across five cities in Gujarat during the pre-season. The Pokémon team visited two of the centres during this phase, where participants received branded gifts. At the Ahmedabad centre, Pikachu made an unannounced visit, taking part in a warm-up session featuring Radio Taiso Number One, a Japanese exercise routine. The appearance was met with enthusiasm by children attending the session.
During the league season, Pokémon set up a dedicated booth at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Decorated with artwork, the booth attracted an estimated 42,000 visitors across the seven home-game days. Pikachu, dressed in the Gujarat Titans jersey, was present at most matches to meet fans and pose for photos. Visitors to the booth received stickers featuring the character, while selected children from the Junior Titans initiative were invited to meet Pikachu in person at the stadium.
The Gujarat Titans’ Chief Operating Officer, Colonel Arvinder Singh, said the collaboration was aimed at expanding engagement with younger fans through a globally recognised brand. He noted that Pikachu’s presence added a distinctive element to the 2025 season.
Activities extended beyond the stadium. At Nexus One in Ahmedabad, Pikachu in team colours appeared at a public event called the Pokémon Fiesta, which included dance performances, games, and other attractions. In-game promotions also took place in Pokémon GO, with the Gujarat Titans logo displayed at Poké Stops across Ahmedabad.
Susumu Fukunaga, Corporate Officer at The Pokémon Company, said the partnership allowed the brand to connect with a new audience and expressed satisfaction with the response from both junior players and general spectators. He added that such collaborations help the company explore different forms of engagement through sport.
