‘007 First Light’ teased: New James Bond game reveal expected soon

Danish video game developer IO Interactive has officially released the first teaser for its upcoming James Bond game, 007 First Light, promising a fresh take on the iconic British spy. The studio, best known for the Hitman series, is now preparing to offer players a look into the early days of the fictional MI6 agent.

The teaser image features a stylised character in a trench coat holding a handgun, bathed in beams of light, accompanied by the golden 007 logo and what appears to be the game’s official title font. According to the game’s social media bio, 007 First Light is “a James Bond origin story” that will challenge players to “earn the number,” hinting at a storyline set before Bond officially becomes Agent 007.

The reveal comes amid speculation that a full unveiling could take place at the upcoming Summer Game Fest 2025. IO Interactive has been confirmed as one of the participating studios for the global event, leading many to believe that a trailer or extended preview of 007 First Light could be on the cards.

While the teaser reveals little in terms of gameplay or plot details, the announcement has already generated excitement among fans. IO Interactive’s previous work on the Hitman: World of Assassination trilogy has drawn comparisons to Bond’s espionage style, raising expectations for a similar mix of stealth, strategy and cinematic flair in the new game.

007 First Light marks a fresh chapter in the long history of James Bond video games, with players eager to see how IO Interactive reimagines the legacy of Ian Fleming’s celebrated character. The teaser’s release has sparked renewed interest in Bond’s gaming future, with many hoping the upcoming title will live up to the franchise’s past successes.
