The Assam down town University (AdtU) has successfully completed its 11th Convocation Ceremony. The ceremony was held on September 25, 2024, at the grand amphitheatre of the University Campus in Panikhaiti, Guwahati. The Governor of Assam and Visitor to the University, Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya, presided over the ceremony.
The programme began with a cordial welcome extended by the Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor, who expressed their commendation for the remarkable achievements of the graduating class. In his address, the Chancellor highlighted the importance of education in promoting societal development. He stated, “As you embark upon your respective journeys, remember that knowledge is not merely a vehicle for personal advancement but a powerful means to uplift and transform your communities.”
In his address, the Cabinet Minister, Shri Jayanta Malla Baruah, inspired the graduates to use their skills for the betterment of the state. He said, “Your journey is just beginning. Embrace the challenges ahead and leverage your education to drive meaningful change.”
The ceremony witnessed the distribution of degrees to a large number of students, including those pursuing PhD, Post Graduate, and Under Graduate programs. The Chancellor presented Gold Medals to the Best Post-Graduate and Best Under Graduate of the University, recognizing their outstanding achievements.
A significant moment came when the Best Post Graduate Student administered the Oath of Dedication, encouraging the other graduates to maintain their professional and ethical standards as they embark on new chapter in their lives.
The Vice-Chancellor also expressed her confidence in the university’s progress and achievements over the past year. The Vice-Chancellor asserted, “Today, we celebrate not only your academic success but also our collective commitment to fostering an environment of learning and innovation.”
The ceremony ended with the Chancellor signing the Convocation Book, formally marking the end of the event. The National Anthem echoed through the amphitheatre, leaving graduates and their families feeling proud and hopeful about their future success.
