Meghalaya: Alleged discrepancies in NEET exam spark controversy

The University Grants Commission is expected to release Admit Cards for National Eligibility Test or UGC-NET 2021 exam on Friday.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) would be releasing the admit card for December/June cycle of exams and there is no official confirmation on the release date yet.

The UGC-NET 2021 Admit Card were scheduled for release in September 2021 and the exams were scheduled to commence on October 5 but were rescheduled due to a clash with other exam dates.

Candidates will need their Application Number and Date of Birth to download the admit card for the UGC NET 2021 examination and can download their Admit Cards from ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

UGC-NET is conducted twice every year. This year, due to postponement of December 2020 UGC-NET in view of COVID-19, the schedule of June 2021 UGC-NET has been delayed.

The National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted on behalf of University Grants Commission (UGC) for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Eligibility of Assistant Professorship, Junior Research Fellowship or both, for Indian Universities and Colleges.

Until June 2018, the NET was conducted by CBSE in 84 subjects at 91 cities across the country. Thereafter from December 2018 onwards, the UGC-NET is being conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

The Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and/ or Eligibility for Assistant Professorship depends on candidate’s aggregate performance in Paper-I and Paper-II of UGC-NET. The candidates qualifying only for Assistant Professorship are not to be considered for the awarding of JRF.

Candidates who qualify the eligibility test for Assistant Professorship are governed by the rules and regulations for recruitment of Assistant Professor of the concerned universities, colleges or state governments.
