The auditions for the 14th Set Wet Mega Mister North East and the 21st Livon Mega Miss North East took place on Sunday at Hotel Daaysco Oley Allo in Guwahati. Organised by Mega Entertainment, a leading name in the region’s fashion and pageantry circuit, the event continues its tradition of discovering and nurturing exceptional talent from Northeast India.
The pageants, conceptualised by fashion entrepreneur Abhijeet Singha, are among the most prestigious in the region. Guwahati’s auditions followed similar events held in Itanagar, Aizawl, Gangtok, Agartala, Dimapur, and Shillong, with simultaneous auditions also taking place in Imphal on the same day.
Speaking at the auditions, Abhijeet Singha, the founder of Mega Entertainment, reflected on the journey of the pageants over the years. “The evolution of talent participating in our pageants has been remarkable. Contestants today bring a level of preparation, confidence, and ambition that reflects the potential of Northeast India,” he remarked. He further added, “As the oldest beauty pageants in the region, these platforms have discovered and mentored individuals who have achieved global recognition, showcasing the immense talent from our region. This year, we remain committed to providing unparalleled opportunities to young achievers.”
Set Wet has returned as the title sponsor for Mega Mister North East, with Livon leading the sponsorship for Mega Miss North East. Neyah serves as the cosmetics partner, and Hotel Daaysco Oley Allo has been named the hospitality partner for the events.
Over the years, these pageants have celebrated winners who have gone on to achieve national and international recognition. Mega Miss North East has spotlighted talents like Sukanya Rajguru, Jyotishmita Baruah, Smriti Sharma, and reigning titleholder Dipti Basumatary. Similarly, Mega Mister North East has produced remarkable winners such as Siddharth Boro, Hirok Jyoti Kalita, and Krishna Das, the current titleholder.

These pageants have consistently opened doors for participants, offering them exposure to international platforms and opportunities to represent Northeast India globally. By participating, contestants gain invaluable experience, training, and networking opportunities, often paving the way for successful careers in modelling and beyond.
This year’s eight-state audition tour will culminate in a week-long grooming and training programme for the finalists in Guwahati. The grand finale is scheduled to take place at the ITA Cultural Complex on 30 and 31 January 2025, where the next icons of Northeast India will be crowned.
