NEATEHUB, AISF sign MoU to strengthen agritech entrepreneurship in Assam

NEATEHUB, the agribusiness incubator of Assam Agricultural University, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Assam Innovation and Startup Foundation (AISF) to strengthen innovation and entrepreneurship in agriculture, agritech and allied sectors.

The MoU was signed at the Assam Startup office in Guwahati on 24 August by Partha Borthakur, CEO (i/c) and COO, NEATEHUB, and Dr Nayanjyoti Goswami, Managing Director and CEO, AISF.

As part of the partnership, NEATEHUB’s Guwahati office will operate from the Assam Startup – The Nest co-working space at Ambari. The arrangement is intended to bring the incubator closer to startups, mentors, investors and industry partners within the state’s startup ecosystem.

The partnership will combine NEATEHUB’s agricultural research linkages and incubation experience with AISF’s mentorship, acceleration, investor and market networks. The two organisations will jointly run programmes for agritech startups covering capacity building, investment readiness and market access.

The collaboration will focus on identifying and nurturing startups in agriculture, agritech and allied sectors, providing mentorship, incubation and acceleration support, facilitating the commercialisation and adoption of agricultural technologies, and connecting startups with investors, industry experts, markets and funding opportunities.

The organisations will also undertake joint startup programmes, workshops, outreach and capacity-building activities, while using agricultural research and sectoral expertise to support commercially viable enterprises and strengthen Assam’s agricultural entrepreneurship ecosystem.

The partnership is part of AISF’s broader effort to work with incubators across Assam, with NEATEHUB among the first higher-education-based incubators to partner under the initiative.

AISF is a Section 8 not-for-profit company established under the Department of Innovation, Incubation and Startups (DIIS), Government of Assam. Operating under the Assam Startup umbrella, it implements startup programmes and facilitates incubation, acceleration, mentorship, investor engagement and market connections.

NEATEHUB, an incubation centre under Assam Agricultural University, supports agriculture and technology-driven startups through mentorship, funding opportunities, infrastructure, technical expertise and market linkages.

The MoU signing ceremony was attended by officials from both organisations, including Dr Nayanjyoti Goswami, Partha Borthakur, Kankan Kharghoria, Pranjal Sensua and Pritish Bora.

Through the collaboration, NEATEHUB and AISF will work towards strengthening innovation, enterprise development and employment opportunities across Assam’s agricultural sector.
