A 10-day anti-rabies vaccination drive was conducted across North Guwahati between December 10 and December 30, 2025, during which 376 dogs were vaccinated across multiple wards under the North Guwahati Municipal Board and nearby areas.
The campaign was implemented jointly by Just Be Friendly (JBF) and Mission Rabies, in collaboration with the North Guwahati Municipal Board and the Animal Husbandry Department. Officials said the initiative reflected coordination between civic authorities, animal welfare organisations and veterinary services.
According to those involved, the drive focused on vaccinating both stray and community dogs, which is considered a key measure in reducing the risk of rabies transmission and improving public health safety. Residents in several localities participated by facilitating access to dogs in their neighbourhoods, while field staff and volunteers carried out the vaccinations.

The campaign concluded in the presence of Jyoti Kangkan Choudhury, executive director of the North Guwahati Municipal Board, Kamal, district veterinary officer, North Guwahati, Ratul Kumar Das, inspector of North Guwahati Police Station, and Amiya Das, ward councillor.
Officials associated with the programme said such drives are part of ongoing efforts to address rabies prevention in the region and highlighted the role of coordinated action between local authorities and partner organisations in managing public health concerns.
