Guwahati: Four individuals from Mizoram have been arrested in connection with a high-stakes gambling racket busted by Sonapur Police during a raid at Club Nirvana, a location already under the scanner for previous betting-related activities. The operation is believed to have unearthed a gambling network involving transactions worth several crores of rupees.
According to a report by India Today NE, the arrested individuals have been identified as Lalchanhima Sailo, Lalfakawma Ralte, Lalring Heta, and Joseph Lalparmawia, all residents of Aizawl, Mizoram’s capital.
Police sources confirmed that the raid was launched following specific intelligence inputs, indicating that the gambling den had been active at the club for the past two to three days.
Club Nirvana, the site of the raid, has previously been raided by police in connection with IPL-related betting, raising questions about ongoing illegal activities at the establishment.
