Kohima: Two individuals were arrested for allegedly assaulting a home guard personnel on traffic duty near Panikhaiti in Guwahati, Assam.
The accused, identified as Sanjay Lama and Tutu Bora, allegedly assaulted the on-duty official on Sunday.
The incident occurred in Lahapara, Panikhaiti, where Home Guard jawan Ashok Kalita, stationed at the Panikhaiti police station, intervened as Lama and Bora were reportedly consuming alcohol in public.
Despite warnings, the two youths allegedly assaulted Kalita.

Following the altercation, Panikhaiti police took swift action and apprehended both Lama and Bora, who reside on Gaonburha Road in Bonda, Guwahati.
The authorities have launched further investigation into the matter to ascertain all details surrounding the incident.
