A 30-year-old man succumbed to his injuries, while another was left with severe injuries after being hit by a vehicle allegedly associated with the convoy of Assam Water Resources Minister Pijush Hazarika.
According to a report, Rupam Bora, who was riding a bike, was seriously injured during the collision. He later died at the Apollo Hospital in Guwahati.
Witnesses reportedly said that the convoy, which was heading towards Khanapara, was speeding too fast. They also said that there were several escort vehicles in the convoy, including a Kia Carnival with the registration number AS01EM1111.
The vehicle’s registration is under the name of Rahul Jain but it is generally used by the minister.
