Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu presided over the State Cabinet Meeting on Saturday, where significant decisions were made to enhance public welfare and promote state development. In a major move aimed at strengthening the health and education sectors, the Cabinet approved the creation of 39 faculty positions in the Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS), given the up-gradation of the MBBS student intake capacity to 100 in the state’s only Medical College.
Additionally, the Cabinet gave the green light to the creation of one post each for Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor in the Department of Cardiology at TRIHMS. Another significant approval was granted for the creation of one post for Deputy Drugs Controller under the Directorate of Health Services.
Focusing on the enhancement of Frontier Highways, the Cabinet approved the establishment of two Highway Circles at Itanagar and Jairampur, along with two Highway Divisions at Koloriang and Rupa. This decision includes the allocation of 20 regular posts and 20 outsourced contractual posts. Moreover, the creation of the position of Chief Architect under the Arunachal Pradesh Public Works Department was also approved.
Recognizing the significance of the Gaon Burah institution, the Cabinet sanctioned the creation of 42 posts for Gaon Burah (GB) and Head Gaon Burah (HGB) in various districts, with 36 GBs and 6 HGBs respectively.
The Department of Indigenous Affairs received approval for 19 posts, including 8 temporary positions and 11 contingency (skilled or unskilled) posts.
The Cabinet endorsed the renaming of various government institutions in honor of influential personalities who made significant contributions to the socio-economic development of their respective areas.
Additionally, the Cabinet approved the notification of 23 local languages and dialects of constitutionally notified tribes in Arunachal Pradesh as third languages in the state, aimed at preserving and promoting indigenous languages.
The proposal for amending the syllabus for the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Combined Competitive Examination Rule 2019 was approved, incorporating topics related to Arunachal Pradesh in both preliminary and main examinations.
Furthermore, the Cabinet recommended the appointment of a member for the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission and approved the framing of recruitment rules for various posts, including Joint Director of Nursing, Senior Public Health Nursing Officers, District Public Health Nursing Officer, and Laboratory Assistant, Laboratory Technician, Senior Laboratory Technicians.
