Itanagar: The Special Investigation Cell (Vigilance) of the Arunachal Pradesh police has apprehended a former elementary education director regarding purported illegal appointments of primary teachers and other staff members within the education department in Anjaw district.
The case, filed under sections 120(B)/420/409/468/471 IPC R/W Sec. 13(2) PC Act, 1988, related to the unlawful appointment of primary teachers and staff in the Longding education department, stemmed from an FIR lodged by Inspector Techi Nega of the SIC.
During an inquiry into a similar case in Longding district, the SIC discovered instances of illegal appointments also occurring in Anjaw district.
The case was officially lodged at the SIC (Vigilance) on August 29, 2023.
Superintendent of Police Anant Mittal of the SIC (Vigilance) stated that the arrest followed meticulous scrutiny of documents, suspect interrogations, and technical analysis.
The arrested individual, identified as Tapi Gao (63), previously served as the director of elementary education in Anjaw district. Gao hails from Sile village in East Siang district.

SIC (Vigilance) superintendent of police Anant Mittal said the arrest was made after meticulous scrutiny of documents, interrogation of suspects, and technical analysis.
The SIC investigation into the illegal appointments is ongoing and all facets of the case are being investigated in detail, Mittal said.
