Guwahati: A joint team of security forces in Tripura apprehended a woman suspected of being involved in the trafficking of Bangladeshi nationals and Rohingya across the Indo-Bangla international border.
The arrest took place in Matinagar, located in the Sepahijala district, following coordinated efforts by various law enforcement agencies.
As per reports, a case was filed at the GRP police station on March 30 after the apprehension of several Bangladeshi nationals. The arrested individuals were taken into police custody for further investigation.
Through the analysis of mobile phones confiscated from the detainees and the Bangladeshi nationals, the police ascertained the involvement of one Parul Akhter from Matinagar.
The accused was reportedly evading capture. However, the police received information about her return home recently and a joint operation involving GRP, Tripura Police from Amtali station, and the Border Security Force (BSF) was launched.
Following a strategic ambush, the suspect was arrested in accordance with the law.
