Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Thursday launched a veiled attack on the opposition grouping, claiming that “Thansa” (a Kokborok word for unity) between Tipra Motha Party and BJP has left the rival camp trembling in fear.
“They are getting cold feet. Many people have their heartbeats rising beyond the usual rhythm to see us joining hands together for a better future. This mammoth gathering sends out a loud and clear message that our party is winning here for sure. I believe our performance shall be better in this seat compared to West Tripura,” Dr. Saha told a gathering at Ambassa, the headquarters of Tripura’s Dhalai district.
The party gathering and rally were organized to mark the nomination submission of BJP candidate from East Tripura, Kriti Singh Debbarman, also a royal family member and sister of Tipra Motha Party founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarman.
“I keep saying it and repeating it here again. Without socio-economic upliftment of the Janajati brothers and sisters, we can never accomplish our goal of Ek Tripura Srestha Tripura. For me, we are all equal, and each and every citizen of the state should get equal opportunities. As we came under the same roof, the brightest days for the state are ahead,” added Dr. Saha.
President of Bharatiya Janata Party Tripura, Rajib Bhattacharjee, who was also present at the event, urged the party workers to celebrate with saffron color as there is no requirement to wait for the day of results.
“This large crowd gathered in Ambassa signify our prowess. I think we should switch into celebration mode as our victory from this seat is just a matter of formal announcement,” said Bhattacharjee.
TMP founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarman, former MP Rebati Tripura, Ministers, MDCs, and MLAs from both the parties joined the event. Kriti Singh Debbarman was escorted by CM Dr. Manik Saha, her brother, to the office of District Magistrate Dhalai, also the RO for the constituency, where she filed the nomination papers.
