Sony Interactive Entertainment is all set to release five games on the PlayStation 5 (PS5) and PC. The launch of these games is part of Sony’s India Hero Project, which aims to promote Indian game development on a global scale.
The announcement was made at the Develop India developer conference, where Sony unveiled the list of games and their launch dates.
The India Hero Project aims to take Indian game developers to the global market by showcasing their unique stories and innovative gameplay mechanics. The initiative is also aimed at increasing the visibility of Indian games in the international gaming industry.
The five games include ‘Requital: Gates of Blood’, ‘Fishbowl’, ‘Meteora’, ‘SURI: The Seventh Note’, and ‘Mukti’. ‘Requital: Gates of Blood’ is a 2D side-scrolling action game set in the Egyptian underworld, while ‘Fishbowl’ is a slice-of-life game that follows young adults as they navigate the complexities of young adulthood and loss.
‘Meteora’ is an arcade-style space game, while ‘SURI: The Seventh Note’ and ‘Mukti’ are mythical India and a first-person exploration of Sundarbans, respectively. The design and gameplay of each game is unique, showcasing the developers’ ability to weave compelling stories and engage a global audience.
The decision to launch these games on both the PS5 and PC is a strategic move by Sony, keeping in mind the growing popularity of PC gaming in India. This move is expected to expand the potential player base and reach a wider audience.
