Agartala: Karnataka Ranji Trophy captain Mayank Agarwal was rushed to the ILS Hospital in Agartala on Tuesday after he fell ill on a New Delhi-bound flight.
The 31-year-old batsman, who has played 21 Tests for India, was taken off the plane and admitted to the ICU, where he is currently undergoing treatment.
According to media reports, Agarwal complained of a throat issue during the flight and vomited multiple times. He was then rushed to the hospital for further medical assistance.
The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) said that Agarwal is not in any danger and that he is being closely monitored by doctors. However, he is expected to miss the team’s next match against Railways in Surat due to this.
“He (Agarwal) is not in any kind of danger. He is under observation currently in a hospital at Agartala, and we will fly him back to Bengaluru once we get an update from the doctors, which we are expecting tonight,” a KSCA official told PTI on condition of anonymity.
