Gangtok: The Sadar Police Station in Gangtok, Sikkim, registered an FIR on June 13 after a human skeleton was discovered in the forest area of Tathangchen.
The report was filed by a resident of Decheling, Tathangchen, who found the remains while collecting fodder for cattle with friends that morning, as per the Sikkim police.
During the investigation, a black wallet containing ID cards belonging to Sonam Tshering Bhutia, a resident of Shotak in Gangtok district, was found near the remains of the body.
It was later revealed that Bhutia’s brother had lodged a missing report for him at Sadar Police Station on April 2.

Sources claim that Bhutia was a site supervisor with the PHE Department. The family and friends suspect foul play, as the body was found on the ground when discovered.
The site where his remains was found was part of his supervising site, as per the PHE department.
Another source mentioned that Bhutia had significant debts and several general diaries had been registered against him at the police station.
