Gangtok: Sikkim’s Home Department has decided to do away with most of the COVID 19 protocols from February 11, including the mandatory negative RT PCR report for people entering the state.
The fresh notification from the government mentions that “requirement of RT PCR negative reports at check posts stands withdrawn”.
Similarly, restrictions on vehicle movement as per odd-even rules and restrictions on pillon riders has also been withdrawn.
The government said there are no restrictions of any timings to shut shops, thereby allowing commercial establishments to function normally. Similarly, all government offices, PSUs, corporations, boards under state or central government shall operate with 100 per cent attendance from February 11.
Schools, colleges and institutes in the state are already functioning since the start of February. All forms of sports, social, political, and religious gatherings are permitted with strict compliance of masks at all times and social distancing norms observed.
