PHD Chamber gears up for 3rd edition of Momentum North East

The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) is set to host the eagerly awaited 3rd edition of Momentum North East from 8th to 10th February 2024 in Guwahati. This annual flagship event promises a golden opportunity for entrepreneurs, exhibitors, and stakeholders, creating a platform for showcasing innovative products and fostering collaboration.

The three-day event, taking place at the Maniram Dewan Trade Centre, Guwahati, will feature impactful capacity-building sessions. These sessions will delve into crucial topics such as Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), Banker-Beneficiary Interface for Lending and Entrepreneurship, Atmanirbhar FPOs for the Development of the North Eastern Region, and Technology Interventions for Livelihood Generation, with a special focus on Cane and Bamboo in the North East.

Momentum North East 2024 is poised to encompass a Development Expo, Agri and Rural Expo, Industrial Expo, and a North East Development Meet. The event aims to attract national and international stakeholders from industry, government, and the development sectors. The primary objective is to showcase programs, schemes, products, technologies, and services while facilitating discussions on issues, opportunities, and future plans.

Key sectors under focus include MSME, Food Processing, Agriculture and Allied Activities, Tourism, Infrastructure, Energy, Skill & Entrepreneurship. The event anticipates the participation of approximately 5000-7000 entrepreneurs, exhibitors, and stakeholders from the 8 Northeast states, making it a significant catalyst for regional growth.

The ceremonial inauguration is scheduled for 8th February, followed by technical sessions featuring addresses by dignitaries, bureaucrats, and political guests. On the second day, 9th February, the spotlight will shift to Mizoram, with the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Mizoram, Shri Lalduhoma, set to address the gathering.

The event will conclude on 10th February with a Bamboo Conclave organised by the Assam State Bamboo Mission in association with PHDCCI. The conclave will showcase the vibrant bamboo products of the region, accompanied by a brainstorming session on the future of the bamboo industry and its opportunities for the rural sector and industry professionals.

Expressing his excitement, Dr Jatinder Singh, Assistant Secretary General, PHDCCI, stated, “Momentum North East 2024 aims to connect local youth, women, NGOs, and development organisations with national-level institutions, industries, professionals, and officials.”

Bibhuti Dutta, Resident Director (NER) – PHDCCI, emphasised the success of the previous editions and highlighted the broader scope of this year’s event, providing more opportunities for networking, trade discussions, and connecting with industry stakeholders.

The three-day event will also feature cultural programs reflecting the rich culture and heritage of the North East. Interested individuals can register for the event, supported by the Department of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare, GOI, and The Office of the Development Commissioner (Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises) – DC(MSME).
