Nagaland’s Department of Industries & Commerce has issued a public warning clarifying that registrations under the PM Vishwakarma and Udyam schemes are completely free of cost. The Department has cautioned citizens against falling prey to individuals or entities charging money in the name of facilitating these government schemes.
In an official statement, Kumar Ramnikant, IAS, Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, stated that “applications for PM Vishwakarma and Udyam Registration are completely free of cost, as per the official guidelines issued under the respective Government schemes.”
Raising concern over the matter, the Department noted that some private individuals and entities have been offering assistance for these registrations and, in certain cases, collecting money for it.
“It has come to the notice of the Department that certain private individuals and entities are offering assistance to applicants for PM Vishwakarma, Udyam registration and other MSME-related schemes, and in some instances, collecting fees for the same,” the Department of Industries & Commerce stated.
The Department further clarified that while beneficiaries are free to avail themselves of such third-party services at their own discretion, no fee is to be charged or collected in the name of the Government for submission of applications under PM Vishwakarma or Udyam Registration.
The public has been urged to exercise caution and to report any instances of unauthorized fee collection to the concerned District Industries Centre.
“The Department remains committed to ensuring that eligible citizens are able to access these schemes in a transparent manner and without any financial burden,” it added.
The Department has also provided a helpline number — 84130 78294 — for queries or to report grievances related to the misuse of these schemes.
