The Republic Day Parade 2025 will feature tableaux from various states, Union Territories (UTs), and Union government ministries under the theme ‘Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas’ (Golden India: Heritage and Progress). These displays will take place on Kartavya Path, celebrating India’s rich heritage and development.
The Ministry of Defence initiated a consultative process earlier this year to enhance the quality and presentation of tableaux. A senior-level meeting in April 2024 reviewed and incorporated suggestions from states and UTs. The theme was chosen through this collaborative approach, ensuring inclusivity in the decision-making process.
Proposals for tableaux were invited from all states, UTs, and central ministries, evaluated by an Expert Committee. This panel included professionals from fields such as art, culture, painting, sculpture, music, architecture, and choreography. The selection was based on creativity, uniqueness, and the effective communication of the theme.
Key factors considered included the balance between heritage (Virasat) and progress (Vikas), originality of concept, artistic details, and overall aesthetic appeal. The time constraints of the parade also necessitated a meticulous shortlisting process to ensure a seamless presentation.
For Republic Day Parade 2025, 15 states and UTs have been selected to showcase their tableaux:
- Andhra Pradesh
- Bihar
- Chandigarh
- Dadra and Nagar Haveli & Daman and Diu
- Goa
- Gujarat
- Haryana
- Jharkhand
- Karnataka
- Madhya Pradesh
- Punjab
- Tripura
- Uttarakhand
- Uttar Pradesh
- West Bengal

Additionally, 11 Union government ministries and departments will present their displays at the parade.
States and UTs that are not part of the Kartavya Path parade have been invited to exhibit their tableaux during Bharat Parv at Red Fort from 26 to 31 January 2025. This ensures broader participation and the opportunity for all regions to contribute to the Republic Day celebrations.
