The Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) has condemned allegations of sexual molestation involving minors against the Senior Pastor of Father’s House Church, Chümoukedima, sparking widespread outrage and demands for justice in the local community.
In a statement on Saturday, DNSU expressed solidarity with the victims and their families, commending the swift response of the Church Board, which called for the pastor’s immediate resignation and barred him from representing the church. DNSU described the board’s actions as “a commitment to upholding moral and ethical standards.”
The union also voiced its support for the ongoing police investigation and urged strict legal measures against the accused. “DNSU supports the ongoing police investigation and urges the authorities to take stringent action against the accused, ensuring justice for the victims,” the statement read.
Additionally, DNSU acknowledged the assurance of the Dimapur Commissioner of Police, who has vowed to file a case or take suo moto action once sufficient evidence is established.
Reiterating the severity of the situation, DNSU said it is “deeply disturbed by allegations involving minors” and emphasized that sexual exploitation and abuse are “heinous crimes that warrant zero tolerance.”
The organization, which advocates for students’ welfare, urged authorities to expedite the investigation and ensure swift justice. It also called on the community to support and protect the victims and their families while appealing for restraint in public commentary, allowing the law to take its course.
“DNSU stands committed to creating a safe environment for all, especially vulnerable groups like children and minors. We will closely monitor the situation and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to prevent such incidents in the future,” the statement added.
