Five-day teacher training programme begins in Longding

A five-day in-service teacher training programme was inaugurated by Bekir Nyorak, Deputy Commissioner of Longding District, at the GHSS Longding school auditorium. The training, titled “Five Days Block Level Capacity Building of Teachers of Grade I-V (Govt. & Govt. Aided) under Foundational Literacy and Numeracy National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding & Numeracy (FLN-NIPUN) Bharat, 2023-24,” aims to enhance the skills of primary school teachers.

Nyorak, the chief guest, emphasised the importance of self-discipline among teachers, citing its direct impact on students. He encouraged teachers to take full advantage of in-service training opportunities provided by the department. Highlighting the influential role of teachers in shaping young minds, he reminded them of their societal obligations. Additionally, he stressed the importance of vocational education to complement traditional learning.

Dr. Manlong Ralongham, DDSE i/c, and Emin Rumi, Principal of GHSS Longding, also addressed the attendees. They discussed various aspects of the training programme and urged teachers to engage in continuous learning, update their teaching methods, and adapt to new educational practices.

The event was attended by teachers, office staff, and officials from schools across the Longding block. The five-day training programme is designed to refresh and enhance the capacity of Grade I-V teachers under the FLN-NIPUN Bharat initiative for the 2023-24 session.
