Kangpokpi: The Kuki Students’ Organization General Headquarters has appealed to the Director of University and Higher Education, Government of Manipur, to reconsider the location for document verification concerning newly appointed Assistant Professors (contract) in Churachandpur and Kangpokpi districts.
In a letter addressed to Dr. Rangitabali Waikhom, the Director of University and Higher Education, the prominent Kuki student body expressed its concern following a recent notification outlining the verification process for original educational certificates or documents. The verification is scheduled to take place at the Directorate of University and Higher Education in Imphal.
While acknowledging the department’s efforts for thorough verification, the Kuki student body highlighted logistical challenges that selected candidates from Churachandpur and Kangpokpi District might encounter while traveling to Imphal West for the verification process.
Thangmoi Haokip, the Education Secretary of KSO General Headquarters, emphasized that, considering the geographical spread, law and order situation, and logistical challenges, they are urging the authorities to relocate the verification venue for selected candidates from Churachandpur and Kangpokpi districts.
The proposal suggests conducting the verification process for these candidates in their respective districts, with the Deputy Commissioner overseeing the procedure in their jurisdiction. Haokip emphasised that this adjustment would not only alleviate the candidates’ burden but also streamline the verification process, ensuring timely completion without undue inconvenience.
