Guwahati: The much-anticipated track “Duur” by Naaz Sultana and its music video in association with Akio Films, was officially released on December 16, 2021, at Tea Story, Uzanbazar, Guwahati.
The team members comprised artists including the Vocalist, composer, lyricist and lead, Naaz Sultana; Director, Rui; Director of Photography, Navkant Swargiary and brothers Amitabh Barooa and Siddharth Barooa of the renowned music band “Lucid Recess”.
“Duur” is a metaphorical song and the music video is influenced by abstract concepts. It represents the chaos in our mind and is depicted through metaphorical sequences. It is as complex as our brains.
The makers believe that every scene in the video is a thought process that is difficult to explain. “What you are and what’s deep inside you is something that cannot be explained in words,” the team believes.
The track’s conceptualisation was on how the brain is an empty palette at birth. As one grows, one is hit by a lot of emotions; negative thoughts and emotions begin to build and fill deep pockets of the mind.
The composers further believe we stay young on the outside while our soul ages surrounded by anxiety, stress, depression and all the negative things happening around the world, hurled at us.
“We really had fun doing this music video. Naaz and I wanted to get collaborated a long time back, but finally, we are having a company together, it’s called Akio. This is the first video that we did together as a company and as a band member; I play the drums for her as well,” said the Director, Rui on their first-ever collaboration.
Naaz, who penned the lyrics and composed the song, requested audiences to watch the video in hope that it will refresh their minds.
“Duur is a metaphorical and abstract song and music video. Duur entails the lost voices that we keep burying inside for long long years trying to revive the lost voices,” said Naaz Sultana.
Amitabh Barooa, the elder of the duo of “Lucid Recess” said, “Naaz, together with me and Siddharth, and the video team – Navkant and Rui; have worked really hard on this. We hope you guys enjoy watching the same.”
