Guwahati: The Union ministry of home affairs (MHA) has issued revised standard operating protocol (SOP)for the movement of stranded workers by trains under which, states have to share the request for train and make suitable arrangement for the workers.
According to an order dated May 19, which is in continuation of MHA order no. 40-3/2020-DM-I(A) dated May 17, shramik special trains will be permitted by Ministry of Railways (MoR) in consultation of MHA.

All the states/ UTs have to designate nodal authorities and make necessary arrangement for receiving and sending such stranded passengers.
The train schedule including stoppage and destination will be finalised by MoR on the requirements as communicated by the states/UTs.
MoR will publicise the train schedule; protocols for entry and movement of passengers; services to be provided in coaches; and the arrangement made with the state/UTs for booking the tickets.
The sending state and MoR has to ensure that all passengers are compulsorily scanned and only asymptomatic passengers are allowed to travel.
While deboarding and travelling, all passengers will have to observe social distancing, and upon reaching their destination all health protocols prescribed by the destination state/UT must be adhered to.
