Dimapur: With news of the 2019 nCoV aka Coronavirus spreading beyond China, the country of origin, the directorate of health and family welfare has issued a circular, informing all registered respiratory therapists (RRTs) to be on high alert, and also to be vigilant about the detection of the virus in the state.

In a letter to issued to the director of the Airport Authority India in Dimapur, the directorate has also requested to provide the list of the passengers travelling from China and other affected countries transiting from Kolkata airport for onward journey to Dimapur.
The directorate of health and family welfare also wrote to the medical superintendents of all the 11 districts of the state. In the letter, NHM mission director Dr Kevichusa Medikhru said: “In view of the 2019 nCoV outbreak ongoing worldwide and to ensure preparedness in the state of Nagaland, you are directed to earmark isolation rooms with ventilator facilities to deal with possible positive cases of the Coronavirus.”
