Special trains for Chhath Puja: NFR introduces additional services

To accommodate the increased number of travellers heading home for Chhath festival, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has arranged eight special train services set to run on November 10, Sunday. This additional service is intended to alleviate crowding at railway stations, providing greater flexibility and convenience for those returning home to celebrate the festival with their families.

Among the scheduled services, Train No. 05744 will run from Katihar to Chhapra, departing at 16:00 hrs and reaching its destination by 00:20 hrs the following day. Another service, Train No. 07541, will depart from Katihar at 19:00 hrs for Dauram Madhepura, arriving by 22:00 hrs the next day. To further support the demand, Train No. 07540 will leave Katihar at 20:30 hrs, making its way to Manihari and arriving by 21:30 hrs. Additionally, Train No. 05742 will travel from New Jalpaiguri to Gomti Nagar, departing at 08:00 hrs and arriving the next day at 07:15 hrs.

For those travelling longer distances, Train No. 01666 will operate from Agartala to Rani Kamalapati, departing at 17:20 hrs and expected to arrive on 12 November by 16:35 hrs. Another long-distance service, Train No. 05831, will run from Rangapara North to Prayagraj, departing at 09:00 hrs and reaching its destination on 11 November by 12:40 hrs. The Anand Vihar Terminal-Guwahati service, Train No. 05672, will leave at 23:45 hrs and is scheduled to reach Guwahati by 14:15 hrs on 10 November. Finally, Train No. 01066 will carry passengers from Agartala to Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, departing at 15:10 hrs and expected to arrive by 08:25 hrs on 13 November.

NFR has put extensive measures in place at major stations to ensure passengers’ safety and comfort during their travels. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) will be actively assisting with orderly boarding, while waiting areas at the main stations have been equipped with public announcement systems, display boards, seating arrangements, and CCTV cameras for added convenience and security.
