Guwahati: In response to the increased demand for travel between Southern India and Northeastern regions, the Indian Railways has announced the introduction of two fortnightly superfast special trains connecting Kanyakumari to Dibrugarh and vice versa.
These additional services aim to alleviate the strain on regular train services and accommodate the needs of passengers from Northeast and North Bengal areas.
The special trains, numbered 06103/06104 (Kanyakumari – Dibrugarh – Kanyakumari) and 06105/06106 (Kanyakumari – Dibrugarh – Kanyakumari), will each operate eight round trips in both directions. They will offer AC-3 Tier, AC-3 Tier Economy Class, Sleeper Class, and General Second-Class accommodations for passengers.
Special train No. 06103 (Kanyakumari – Dibrugarh) will depart from Kanyakumari at 17:25 hours on 16th February, 1st, 15th & 29th March 2024, and arrive at Dibrugarh at 20:50 hours on Monday. In the return direction, Train No. 06104 (Dibrugarh – Kanyakumari) will depart from Dibrugarh at 19:55 hours on 21st February, 06th, 20th March & 03rd April 2024, reaching Kanyakumari at 21:55 hours on Saturday.
Similarly, Special train No. 06105 (Kanyakumari – Dibrugarh) will leave Kanyakumari at 17:25 hours on 23rd February, 08th, 22nd March & 05th April 2024, and reach Dibrugarh at 20:50 hours on Monday. In the return direction, Train No. 06106 (Dibrugarh – Kanyakumari) will depart from Dibrugarh at 19:55 hours on 28th February, 13th, 27th March and 10th April 2024, reaching Kanyakumari at 21:55 hours on Saturday. These trains will offer AC-2 tier, AC-3 tier, Sleeper Class, and General Second-Class accommodations.
The routes for these trains will include Mariani Junction, Dimapur, Lumding Junction, Goalpara Town, Kokrajhar, New Cooch Behar, New Jalpaiguri, Malda Town, Barddhaman Junction, Kharagpur Junction, Bhubaneswar, Vizianagaram Junction, Vijayawada Junction, Nellore, Coimbatore Junction, Ernakulam Town, and Thiruvananthapuram Central, among others.
