AAI debuts 'Pradipti' internship initiative for students

The Airports Authority of India (AAI), the nation’s premier airport operator and the sole provider of air navigation services inaugurated its much-anticipated Internship Program named ‘Pradipti’ today at the Indian Aviation Academy in New Delhi. The launch event witnessed the esteemed presence of Shri Sanjeev Kumar, Chairman of AAI, along with other Board Members and Airport Directors from AAI-operated airports, both in-person and virtually.

Designed with the vision to offer a firsthand experience of airport operations to students, Pradipti aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application in the dynamic field of Civil Aviation. Dr. H. Srinivas, Member (Human Resources) at AAI, shed light on the multifaceted learning opportunities embedded within the program during his address, emphasizing its pivotal role in nurturing a passion for aviation among the youth.

Chairman Shri Sanjeev Kumar articulated the program’s essence, stating, “Pradipti is meticulously crafted to immerse students in the intricate workings of airports and the broader aviation industry. By fostering direct engagement and participation in real-time projects, our aim is to ignite curiosity and ambition among aspiring aviation professionals.”

Underlining the collaborative spirit of the initiative, AAI has forged partnerships with educational institutions across the country. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is poised to be inked between AAI and participating institutions, facilitating the seamless integration of students into the internship framework. To date, more than 120 institutions situated in the vicinity of AAI-operated airports have eagerly embraced this partnership, offering their students an enriching platform to augment their academic pursuits with practical insights.

Pradipti promises a spectrum of learning avenues, spanning from short-duration visits to extensive internships, aimed at empowering students with a holistic understanding of Airport Infrastructure, Operations, and Air Navigation Services.
