The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has given clearance for the 100 per cent acquisition of Lanco Amarkantak Power Limited by Adani Power Limited. The proposed acquisition will help in Adani Power’s efforts to reduce its carbon footprint.

Adani Power is a part of the Adani Group and is engaged in the business of thermal power generation across India. The company has thermal power plants in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Madhya Pradesh. The acquisition of Lanco Amarkantak Power Limited will help Adani Power’s efforts to reduce its carbon footprint.

Lanco Amarkantak Power Limited is also part of the Lanco Group and was put under the corporate insolvency resolution process (CIRP) in 2016. The proposed combination will help in Adani Power’s efforts to reduce its carbon footprint. The detailed order of the CCI will follow.
